Is your brand being all that it should?
Lets’ firstly clear up what a brand is shall we? Its a big word going on right now, everyone is throwing it around! Well, according to ‘Entrepreneur’ … “your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from your competitors’.” I strongly believe that your brand is built from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be. The challenge is to ‘create’ this and maintain this across all your marketing and business essence.
Your brand is what other people say about you when you’re not in the room.
With that in mind…
You’ve planned your projects, organised and set up schedules, and sorted out where all the awesome new coffee shops are so your meetings are accompanied by a great brew. But is your brand really saying what you want your clients & customers to know about you? It might be time to sit down and think about a few things so as you can get a grasp on your brand personality? We’ve come up with five tasty tips so as you can ‘rock it’ and engage with your audience in the way you wished.
01. First impressions count
A really good starting point is finding your uniqueness and what defines you, your offerings, and makes you shine. So how do you do this? Try starting with your WHY? Your vision, mission & values.
02. Your Brand isn’t just about design
Shock Horror… from a designer! It’s a lot more. It’s the words you use – your voice! The people who represent you. Your customer service. It’s everything that your potential clients see from the outside looking in. So make sure that all these things are working together & consistent. In other words, don’t be a 1999 website, with a new hipster fit out in your shop! Too weird and disjointed.
03. Select your flavour
Are you vanilla or chocolate? Funky, old school or professional? Does it come with a colour, a font? All these things combine together to create your brand. Maybe leave THAT for later, but definitely “Keep It Simple Stupid”! Don’t make it confusing. People like it clear and concise. Too much going on is just way too hard. This also applies to your dress code people. Don’t over complicate things please!
05. Be proud
Got all that sorted! And now its time to crank up the volume of you! Having confidence in your core and the nuts & bolts of your offerings is vital. Show it off and ooze your brand. Once you have it… BE IT!
